After an early transfer to Dar es Salaam International Airport, board a scheduled flight to Kigoma, a historic town on the shores of Lake Tanganyika. Upon arrival, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel.
Depending on arrival time, enjoy leisure moments exploring Kigoma or relaxing with lake views. The town is rich in history and culture, offering a calm introduction to western Tanzania. In the evening, enjoy dinner and an overnight stay as you prepare for your upcoming journey into Mahale Mountains National Park.

After breakfast, transfer to the lakeshore and board a boat across Lake Tanganyika to Mahale Mountains National Park. The journey offers spectacular views of forested mountains rising directly from the lake.
Spend three days immersed in Mahale’s pristine wilderness, home to one of Africa’s most important chimpanzee populations. Each day includes guided chimpanzee trekking with experienced rangers, hiking through lush forested slopes. Afternoons are free for relaxation, swimming, kayaking, dhow cruising, or guided nature walks. With no roads and minimal visitors, Mahale offers an unmatched sense of isolation and tranquility.
After breakfast, return by boat to Kigoma and transfer to your hotel for leisure time. Spend time relaxing, enjoying lake views, or exploring local markets and nearby cultural sites.
On Day 6, enjoy a relaxed breakfast before transferring to Kigoma Airport for your scheduled flight back to Dar es Salaam.
